WPT Global Announces Two Online Poker Series to Take Place During Summer 2024

Online poker site WPT Global has announced details of the online poker series it has lined up for the summer of 2024.

The early part of the summer has been understandably quiet at many online poker sites, including WPT Global, as the major focus of the poker world has been centred on the World Series of Poker. However, looking beyond what’s happening in Vegas, sites are now beginning to reveal details of the the online series they have concocted for the rest of the summer.

One of the fastest sites out of the starting blocks with details of their summer action, is WPT Global. Although not yet available in all countries, for those who can access WPT Global, there’s a solid schedule of online poker events to get involved with throughout July and August.

The site has two key online poker series lined up for its customers, the Summer Festival and the Preheat Festival

The $7m Summer Festival on WPT Global

The $7m Summer Festival is the biggest and the most anticipated of the two summer series, including a WPT online championship in its schedule. The WPT Global Summer Festival begins on July 28th and lasts for three weeks, ending on August 18th.

The full schedule and linked promotions have yet to be revealed, however WPT Global has indicated that the schedule will mirror that of the Spring Festival, which took place in May. This means that it will include an online WPT Championship, with the winner having their name engraved on the Mike Sexton Cup.

What we do know at this stage is that the main event will have a $500,000 guarantee and will cost $220 to enter.

Preheat Festival with $3m Guaranteed

But before the Summer Festival gets underway, the Preheat Festival, with $3m in prizepool guarantees takes place, from 12th-21st July. The Preheat Festival is not just a warm up for the larger Summer Festival, it is a pretty big deal in it’s own right, featuring a $300,000 guaranteed main event also with a $220 buy-in.

Although the Preheat Festival is not just a warm up for the Summer Festival, that is to be fair, one of its main purposes. As an added bonus, the winners of all events in the Preheat Festival also earn a $220 ticket into the $500,000 guaranteed main event of the Summer Festival.

There are 164 events on the Preheat Festival schedule, so that’s over $36,000 in Summer Festival Main Event tickets being given away.

Preheat Festival Schedule

The Preheat Festival begins on 12th July and has 15-20 tournaments per day on its schedule, not including satellites. Most tournaments are one-day events, however there are two marquee events that have starting days running throughout the festival.

Most tournaments are in the the $11-$55 range, however there MTTs as low as $5.50 every day and some at $110 and $220.

The entire schedule is No Limit Hold’em, the majority if events being PKOs, with some regular vanilla tournaments thrown in into the mix.

Guarantees range from $3,000 to $300,000 with most of the daily tournaments in the $5,000-$15,000 range, with the occasional larger one. The biggest events of the festival are the two marquee events and the $2,100 High Roller.

Sundays are the busiest days of the festival, with two $110 tournaments, each with $100,000 guarantees on both of the Sundays during the festival.  One is very early in the day (Crazy Sunday) aimed at the Asian market and the other (Sunday Slam) in the evening.
