British poker pro Patrick ‘Pads’ Leonard has announced via his X (Twitter) account that he has become a strategic ambassador of cryptocurrency poker room CoinPoker.

Pads, a former Party Poker Team Pro who hails from the north-east of England started a post on X, calling it his "I will” thread, in which he pledges to help the site become the

safest & best online poker room in the world

In a number of replies to his initial tweet, Pads outlines the tasks he will be taking on in his role and what he hopes to achieve.

Unsurprisingly this includes tackling some of the hot topics that have been arising in recent months.

Security & Transparency

These topics include issues such as combating RTA (Real Time Assistance) tools that have been giving some players an unfair advantage over others; and bots, whose alleged presence on some sites is threatening the integrity of the game and has shaken consumer confidence in the safety of online poker.

Pads commits to leading a player security council to tackle these matters and to give all players a voice in this discussion.

CoinPoker Growth

In addition to being the guardian of game security, Pads will work to help CoinPoker grow their use base and market share. He hints that he may be just the first in a line of new ambassadors for the site, a team that will grow under his supervision.

He is also involved with a project to improve the software and product offering, hinting that increasing the provision of mixed games may be something that CoinPoker is planning to do in the near future.

Player Communication

Patrick is very clear about one thing: transparency. He wants to be held accountable for the communication process, acting as a conduit between the site and its players to engage the community, take views on board and deliver updates on a work in-progress.

Proof of Reserves Revealed at CoinPoker

At the same time as Patrick Leonard was making his announcement, the CoinPoker official X handle was posting news of a security feature, which seems to be the early product of work that Pads has been doing behind the scenes, prior to being officially unveiled as a CoinPoker ambassador.

The news was that the site has made visibility of its reserves public, proving that player deposits are segregated from company funds.

As of August 9th, 2024, the site holds over $16m worth of player deposits and has disclosed the contents of their hot and cold wallets, proving they hold over 104% of the required funds in segregation to cover the value of player deposits.

Mario Mosbock Also Joins CoinPoker

Patrick is not the only new ambassador to be revealed by CoinPoker as former professional footballer turned poker player Mario Mosbock from Austria has also signed and will be working together with Pads, with a shared vision to help grow the site.

CoinPoker Weekly VIP Cash Game on Sundays

One area in which CoinPoker already excels is its weekly streamed cash games. In recent months these have brought up some juicy moments, with Charlie Carrel, another pro from the North East of England hosting a stakes cash games with other streamers and a few whales.

In some of the games held in June 2024, it was the whales who schooled the pros, with Charlie ending up seriously in the red in one volatile encounter.

This weekend’s action includes a $25/$50 Pot Limit Omaha VIP cashgame. One of the so-called whales is a player who’s real identity remains a mystery, going by the online moniker ’SAMJAZZYKINS.’

Mystery man Sam will be in the Sunday 11th August line-up, along with Pads, making his debut in the game as an official CoinPoker ambassador.

One of CoinPoker’s founding investors Tony G will also take his seat in the live-streamed cash game.
